Description
“Mai to’u aroa ‘ei to’u tairoto” (“From my neighbourhood to the lagoon”) gave young people in Faa’a, aged 6 to 18, the chance to build knowledge about the environment, marine biodiversity and careers linked to environmental protection, through teaching programmes and immersion days at Te mana o te moana.
Objectives
- Welcoming children aged 6 to 18 from priority neighbourhoods for teaching workshops, to better understand the link between the neighbourhoods, the lagoon and marine biodiversity, during a one-day event
- An awareness and poster campaign in busy locations across the commune of Faa’a
- A communications campaign through the media, the press and social networks
Outcome
In total, 5 organisations attended the event, and 153 young people were reached along with 19 adults.
